Getting It Wrong: What Happens When our Criminal Justice System Convicts an Innocent Person

This event will feature Jennifer Thompson Cannino, a rape victim who mistakenly misidentified her assailant, and Ronald Cotton, the innocent man Jennifer identified and who later was freed by DNA evidence after 11 years in prison. (As seen on PBS Frontline’s What Jennifer Saw and the award winning documentary After Innocence) Please join us for this unparalleled story of courage, triumph, and redemption.

Katie Monroe, Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center, will also present on the causes of wrongful convictions and what can be done to prevent future wrongful convictions. Additionally, she will address what is being done now for the many innocents who sit in prison awaiting their day of justice.
